Francisco

francisco2

Born on June 11, 1908.
Died on April 4, 1919.
Beatified in Fatima by Pope John Paul II, on May 13, 2000.

Early on, in his humble family, he learned, with sister Jacinta, to know and to praise God and the Virgin Mary.

An Angel and the Blessed Mother urged him to pray and do penance for the remission of sins, to obtain the conversion of sinners and peace for the world. From then on, his only worry was: to fulfill the requests of the Angel and of Mary, thus making continuous progress in the way of perfection.

The words of the Angel “Console your God” strongly impressed Francisco and guided him throughout his entire life. He wanted to be the Consoler of Jesus, mainly by praying the Rosary and adoring the Hidden Jesus in the tabernacle of the parish church.

At Fatima, on May 13, in the Jubilee Year 2000, Pope John Paul II added him to the number of Blesseds.
