Manuscript of Third Part of Secret of Fatima temporally exposed
“Secret and Revelation” is the title of the temporary exhibition being inaugurated on November 30, in the underground area of the Basilica of Most Holy Trinity. Amongst the most valuable works of this exhibition is the manuscript of the Third Part of the Secret of Fatima, brought from the Vatican, never before exposed to the public.
The announcement was made at the end of October by Mr. Marco Daniel Duarte, Curator of the Museum of the Shrine of Fatima, the person in charge of the exhibition:
“Amongst the pieces being shown is the manuscript of the Third Part of the Secret of Fatima, revealed on May 13, 2000. Considering it to be one of the fundamental pieces for the museological discourse of the exhibition dealing with the three Parts of the Secret of Fatima, the Shrine asked the Holy See to loan it temporarily. The request, made by Bishop Antonio Marto, was answered positively by Pope Francis on June 10 of 2013”, according to Mr. Duarte.
Admission is free and it will open to the public until October 31, 2014, at the ‘Convívio de Santo Agostinho’ (St. Augustine Foyer), in the underground floor of the Complex of the Basilica of Most Holy Trinity.

Relics of Little Shepherds donated to Pope Francis
On October 12, Sister Angela Coelho, Postulator for the Cause of Canonization of Blesseds Francisco and Jacinta Marto, donated to Pope Francis some relics of the Blessed Little Shepherds and a piece of the Holm-oak (azinheira) over which Our Lady appeared to them in Valinhos, Aljustrel, in August 1917.
The donation was made on the occasion of the presence of the Statue of Our Lady of Fatima in Rome, at the closing of Marian Day, which was organized by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization.
Sister Angela Coelho, who was part of the delegation accompanying the Statue of the Virgin of Fatima, recalled the moment of the hand-over of the relics: “His Holiness said that in Portugal the Little Shepherds Francisco and Jacinta are models of love for the Pope and inspire our prayer and offering up (to God) of our sacrifices and lives for the Holy Father. Then I handed over to him the case with the relics of the Little Shepherds and a piece of the Holm-oak (azinheira) over which Our Lady appeared in August 1917”. At the moment he received the relics, Pope Francis kissed them tenderly and asked us to pray for him. From this moment, the Postulator recalls, above all, “the joy of the Holy Father and the attention with which he listened and spoke with each one”.

Shrine has just published a new book from the collection “Fatima Message”
The Message of Fatima. The mercy of God: the triumph of love in the dramas of history, by Spanish theologian Eloy Bueno da la Fuente, is the most recent book published by the Shrine of Fatima.
Eloy Bueno de la Fuente, Professor of Dogmatic Theology at the School of Theology of Burgos, says that “to our world, the Message of Fatima acts as a prophetic interpretation of history, since it denounces the hells that generate human egoism and, on the other hand, highlights the existence of a greater love, represented by Mary, a guarantee that the world will not end in a tragedy, thanks to witnesses such as the Little Shepherds, who surrendered themselves to the designs of mercy revealed to them”.
The book is structured in two parts: the first, with the tile “In the sore flesh of the world”, opens “the list of the different aspects of the drama lived on the individual and the collective levels”, such as wars and violence; the second, titled “A mystic and prophetic testimony”, intends, according to the author, “to reveal and study the genuine meaning of the Message addressed precisely to that dramatic scenario”, under different points of view, in which “the Little Shepherds are witnesses of those designs of mercy announced to them”.
The book can be purchased at the Bookstore of the Shrine of Fatima

Statue of Our Lady of Fatima will be at the Vatican in October
At the request of Pope Francis, the Statue of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima, which is enthroned in the Little Chapel of the Apparitions for veneration by the pilgrims, will be at the Vatican during October’s Marian Day. On the 13th, the Holy Father will make the consecration of the World to the Immaculate Heart of Mary before Her Statue.
Organized by the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, this Day is one of the great events on the calendar of the celebration of the Year of Faith (October 2012 to November 2013) and will help gather in Rome hundreds of movements and institutions connected with Marian devotion.
In a letter addressed to Bishop Antonio Marto, of Leiria-Fatima, the President of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, Cardinal Rino Fisichella, said that “the Holy ardently wishes that Marian Day may have, as a special sign, one of the more important Marian icons in the world”.
The Statue of Our Lady returns to Fatima on the afternoon of October 13. While away from the Little Chapel of Apparitions, in its place will be the first Statue of the Pilgrim Virgin of Fatima, presently enthroned in the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima since December 8, 2003.

Francisco and Jacinta of Fatima: two stars in the night of the World

Course on the Message of Fatima exceeded all expectations; so, it will be repeated in October
“The course on the Message of Fatima offered by the Shrine from June 7 to 9, at the Retreat House of Our Lady of Sorrows, was attended by 72 people, a group truly young and diversified. They were given an interpretation of the event that at Fatima reflected the Gospel, having in view to lead them to live in depth the Message that was offered to us there. Walking through the main themes of the event of Fatima, the participants in the course were invited, through understanding and living the Message, to let themselves also immerse in that light “which was God” with which the Lady of Fatima lighted the life of the Little Shepherds and that of the whole world. The group was willing to let themselves be invaded by the beauty and mercy of God, just like Francisco, Jacinta and Lucia, whose lives are both a synthesis of the Message and a challenge to the world”.
Sister Ângela Coelho, Postulator of the Cause of Canonization of Francisco and Jacinta Marto
After this first edition of the Course on the Message of Fatima, whose attendance exceeded all expectations, the Course will be repeated on October 18 through 20. The time for admissions will be opportunely announced.
